Sup With the Proxy Servers?

When you are accessing or visiting a website or a service that is hosted on an external network like the World Wide Web or an internal one which is local then your computer or terminal will be communicating directly with that server on which the service or webpage is hosted.

Because a proxy performs the function of an intermediary between the two ends it is an extremely important network component.

With the help of a proxy server it is possible to ensure that one’s computer is not in direct communication with the server that is hosting the website that is to be accessed. All communications would instead reach the server through another computer which acts as the proxy. This server in turn would communicate with the host server and relay all the information requested or required back to the person who has asked for it.

Many people hesitate to use the proxy server as the process seems to be slower. But using such a server is highly beneficial although the concept has acquired a bad image due to its facilitating illegal activities. At first proxy servers were so designed so as to hide the identity of the computers belonging to an internal network.

Not only does it protect the computer from prying eyes but also helps to increase the speed of certain web resources and network by means of caching. Caching is imperative because it serves as a content filter and scans inbound as well as outbound data for potential leaks and viruses. Over the past few years there has been a tremendous increase in the number of people using proxy servers because people are becoming more and more net-savvy.

In schools and work places proxy servers have become inevitable. It helps in prohibiting individuals from accessing questionable and forbidden websites, watching impermissible videos, engaging in unproductive work while at work like going to social networking sites, connecting with friends through chat, playing online games and many others. Hence using proxy servers in the professional areas has proved to be extremely beneficial.

If an individual wishes to mask his own identity in the internet, proxy server can help. This can be ensured by masking the IP (Internet Protocol) address of their computers. Further if required an individual has the option of creating innumerable identities or proxies and communicate through them.

Should Children Have Computers?

Though for grown-ups computer has turned out to be an essential electronic item, it is still a debate as to whether kids too should have access to computers. In fact we still question ourselves innumerable times as parents if it is feasible to buy this wonder machine for the children of the house who consider it is as nothing short of fascinating.

Nowadays, every household has at least one computer and some have as many as three or four to cater to every member of the family. Hence, unlike the baby boomer and eco boomer generations, for contemporary kids, a computer is definitely not a novelty but an integral part of the household. Using a computer comes as naturally to today’s child as gulping down his feed or exploring the various nooks and corners of the house.

Computer, no doubt, is an interesting gadget when compared with toys, friends and other modes of entertainment that the child has access to and with age this use can only increase. It is also at this stage that this device needs to be used always under parental control and guidance so that it never turns out as an addiction or creates a negative impact on the child.

In order to ensure that the computer remains a friend to your child, it is mandatory to set limits on the duration of usage. This can vary as per the age of the child and more importantly must not interfere with his daily gross motor activities. Monitoring the amount of time spent at the computer will also preserve the visual and physical health of the child and prevent onset of fatigue, distraction and anxiety.

If you want your children to become efficient professionals in the future you should ensure that they are proficient in using computers. At the same time, as a parent you have the power to decide whether you want your child to benefit from computers or to suffer because of it and this is all about the guidance which you provide to your children.

Ensol and Solar Energy News

Ensol, a company in Norway teamed up with University of Leicester scientists to develop a revolutionary substance that may be able to turn your windows, mobile phone, or computer screen into a solar panel.

This exciting breakthrough in solar technology may allow folks to spray the substance directly onto a flat surface, transforming the surface into a mini, (or large as with an entire building), solar panel. Currently, application of the substance tints windows and other transparent or translucent surfaces slightly, but development is still underway.

Hopefully soon you’ll be able to do a whole lot more than just put a few solar panels on your home or office building. This breakthrough technology with hopefully someday allow us to turn entire buildings into solar energy catchers. And rather than using material like silicone, this new technology uses strings of nano-particles - much thinner that a human hair. This amazing substance is anticipated to be able to produce up to one hundred watts p/sqm.

Phil Denby, the technical manager at EnSol originally discovered the technology and decided to team up with the folks at the University of Leicester. The team is currently working to perfect the whole process of producing the material as well as exploring its potential applications.

With the popularity of the Environmental movement, it is surely time that solar panels and the way we think about capturing the energy of the sun are updated. The possibilities of this exciting new technology could mean a huge decrease in our dependence on oil and natural gas.

Perhaps some day we will even be able to generate enough energy on our own, from our own homes, to surpass our consumption.

Until this technology is available, there are a variety of ways you can cut down on your energy usage including constructing your own DIY solar panels at home! Making a solar panel is not only great for the environment, but could teach you, and your children a lot about science and solar energy.

Lets Talk About Cell Tower Leasing

A property contract between a telecommunication company and the owner of the land on which the telecom company would like to erect a cell tower is known as cell tower leasing. However, you absolutely need cell tower advice when it comes to the contract and leasing agreement.

Telecom companies are always looking out for places where they can construct their cell towers. Thus those who own high rise buildings in cities as well as land owners who have tracts of land in specific strategically located areas in villages would stand to earn some extra income if they enter into a cell tower lease.

A land owner who is likely to be approached by a telecom company desirous of erecting a cell tower, should first be aware of the laws as well as the regulations that govern the lease even before he is approached by a buyer. The land owner needs to check out certain factors before he grants the lease. These factors include that the terrain should be evaluated for its suitability for the purpose. The local ordinances pertaining to the property, security concerns and more importantly whether the carrier has given the company the requisite authorization all need to be checked.

The land owner also has certain rights in the deal and he should ensure that these rights are very clearly mentioned in the contract. According to cell tower leases, once the contract has been signed, the operator would also enjoy certain rights over the leased land. Therefore it is the responsibility of the property owner to know all about his rights over the land as well as those rights which he would have to pass on to the operator as also the certain areas where the operator would require the permission of the owner of the land.

Another thing that plays a vital role in such leasing contracts is the amount of rent that could be gained after entering such cell tower lease. There are various factors on which cell tower rates depend, it could be the area of the place (whether rural, urban or sub-urban), the land's market value and the background of the property. At times, even the zone in which the building lies can determine the price of the rent.

Calculating a rough idea of the rate of this type of lease certainly isn't an easy task because there is no one-size-fits-all method or technique of calculating.

If you want to have some idea about how much would these cell tower leasing companies and contracts be able to fetch you, then you can talk to the organizations which are experienced in this matter, meaning they have the proper information and databases which has been collected over the years.

One thing that is important to both the owner and the leasing company when entering such leasing contract is the time period of the cell tower lease. A full term lease would usually last for 20-25 years or one could go for installments every five years, this makes it possible to negotiate whether or not one would like to renew the leasing contract during the renewal time of such contracts.

Even though the carrier or the company may have permission to visit the leasing site as and when he desires, but he cannot use the facilities pertaining to the property which are not accessible for him and nor can he occupy an area larger than the designated one, even though it might just be an inch more. He would have the right to maintain or construct the cell tower, but by no means should these activities affect the activities of the property.

If the land owner so wishes he can sell the building at a later date as the law permits him to do so and the lease is immune to the sale of the property.

Computer Monitors, LCD and More

As technology advances so does the performance of the desk-top monitor. With LCD backlights, built in speakers and increasingly bigger sizes, today’s monitors are competing with large screen TV’s in performance and resolution. In fact, many computer users opt to view TV programming on their desk-tops.

When choosing a monitor bear in mind that not all monitors use energy equally. If energy efficiency is a factor, look for a monitor bearing the Energy Star.

Customizing Options

If there is the need to customize your monitor an important point to keep in mind is this; off the shelf LCD monitors come in a standard configuration, you cannot change that. In order to be able make changes in the way your monitor is configured you must choose an industrial monitor.

So, for instance if you need more options, the industrial monitor may be something you could seek out just for such changes. Off the shelf monitors tend to come in a small variety of sizes, while industrial monitors range from 3.5” to 52”. Perhaps it’s not a huge customizable issue, but it is sometimes the issue.

Regarding the Warranty

This is probably one of the frustrating areas of buying new monitors. The warranty is usually between 6 months to a year. However, if you’re purchasing an industrial monitor you can opt for a 3 year warranty, which is why these monitors deserve a closer look. One thing to remember when buying a non commercial monitor is that the warranty is void if they are used for commercial or industrial applications. Another reason to look into a hearty industrial monitor, perhaps something like the rack mount or panel mount monitor.

Industrial Monitors

New-age industrial monitors can eliminate the need for peripherals like the common mouse, keyboard, or VDU’s. This is because they utilize touch-screen technology. This allows for a less cluttered work station.

This is why they are considered some of the most rugged computer screens available on the market. While durability is vital in the workplace, it is also nice for home environments that may have less than thoughtful humans with accident prone personalities.

Being able to move an industrial monitor is a great advantage it holds over its bulkier desk-top cousin. Because the industrial monitor contains all the computer components it can be located almost any place it is needed, space is not a big issue. If necessary it can be moved to another location with relative ease.

Totally Awesome Choices in the World of Computer Screens. Let’s face it. In today’s world we have a huge variety of computer screens. From the iPod to the rackmount monitor we have the ability to see our work on a tiny screen or to indulge our eyes by connecting our computer to a huge widescreen TV. We are only limited by price, space and in some cases our imagination.
